Jesse Brooks serves as the Director of Systems Implementation at NextAfter. He was born and raised in Lancaster, PA, and relocated to Washington, D.C. in 2020.
Jesse’s bachelor’s is in International Studies and he’s currently pursuing a master’s in Government. He meandered his way into the data field while working at an online education company as their database administrator. He’s also served as a data analyst, and most recently was the director of technology at an educational nonprofit.
Jesse loves problem solving, in any context. As a generalist, he loves having one foot in the technical world and the other in the non-technical world, helping bridge the gap and translating the needs of each side. For Jesse, fulfillment comes when he’s able to leave organization, business rules, and structure in his wake.
In his free time Jesse likes to spend time with friends, read, volunteer, play and watch sports (go Eagles!), spend time outdoors, run, travel, and try new foods. The more unique, the better.
Though he can’t pick just one favorite book, some of his favorites include “Anna Karenina,” “The Old Man and the Sea,” “Through the Language Glass,” “The Screwtape Letters,” and “The Phoenix Project.”
“For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ.” – Galatians 1:10
